Identity

Debut is the first solo album by Icelandic artist Björk, released in 1993 after she left the band the Sugarcubes. Made largely in London with producer Nellee Hooper, it threaded house, trip-hop, jazz and pop into something singular, from the club rush of "Big Time Sensuality" and "Violently Happy" to the hushed intimacy of "Like Someone in Love" and "The Anchor Song." Home to "Human Behaviour" and "Venus as a Boy," it announced one of the most distinctive voices in modern music.
