About the album.

Artificial Intelligence is a 1992 electronic compilation from Warp Records, the release that launched the label's Artificial Intelligence series and helped define IDM and ambient listening music as a genre. It gathers nine tracks from artists who would go on to shape the following decade, several appearing under early aliases: Aphex Twin as The Dice Man, Richie Hawtin as UP!, B12 as Musicology, Black Dog Productions as I.A.O., alongside Autechre, Speedy J and The Orb's Alex Paterson, whose contribution was co-written with Jimmy Cauty of The KLF. The series ran from 1992 to 1994 and later included Polygon Window's Surfing On Sine Waves, Black Dog Productions' Bytes, B12's Electro-Soma, F.U.S.E.'s Dimension Intrusion, Speedy J's Ginger, Autechre's Incunabula and Artificial Intelligence II. This 30th-anniversary edition returns it to vinyl in a gatefold sleeve reconstructed by The Designers Republic, re-cut by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering, and pressed at Optimal.
