Tycho - Infinite Health (Vinyl LP)

Infinite Health is the sixth studio album from Tycho, the electronic and downtempo project of San Francisco songwriter, musician and producer Scott Hansen, a two-time Grammy nominee. Ninja Tune released it on 30 August 2024, with Mom + Pop handling the US. It follows the paired albums Weather (2019) and Simulcast (2020). Hansen describes the record as a return to the way he worked in the early 2000s, before Dive. He built each track on breaks, drums and rhythm and let the instrumentation follow, rather than the other way round. He co-produced with Tycho guitarist Zac Brown and with Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor, who also mixed the album. The lead single 'Phantom' set the tone, and the title track features singer Cautious Clay. Hansen frames the album as a balance of hope for what comes next and mourning for what has passed, somewhere to heal and reflect. He has called it the start of a third era for the project. Nine tracks sit across a single LP, closing with the short coda 'Epilogue'. Listeners who found Tycho through Dive or Awake will recognise the sunlit synth palette, now on a firmer rhythmic footing. It sits comfortably beside Bonobo and the wider Ninja Tune roster.
