Irukandji Syndrome opens on two fuzzed guitars buzzing in syncopation over a bass line that keeps circling back. Shouted call and response vocals cut across it. The guitar solo near the end collapses into a wall of static. Goon Show trudges, its bass tone saturated and clamped tight. Stepping On A Rake turns warmer, layered singing over instruments that prowl rather than push. Dunning Kruger's Loser Cruiser bends a funk groove through shifting time signatures. Joe Meek Will Inherit The Earth drifts toward late sixties psychedelia. Moscovium starts slow and minimal, erupts into fuzz around the two minute mark, and runs out on squelching feedback.

About the album.
Fairyland Codex is a noise rock and post-punk record released in June 2025, the fourth studio album by Tropical Fuck Storm. The band recorded it with co-producer Michael Beach at its own Dodgy Brothers studio in Nagambie, regional Victoria, and Fire Records released it, the band's new label home. The Melbourne quartet formed around guitarist and vocalist Gareth Liddiard and bassist and vocalist Fiona Kitschin after their previous band The Drones went on hiatus, with multi-instrumentalist Erica Dunn and drummer Lauren Hammel completing the line-up. The art-rock, psych-leaning songs shift between three-way vocal interplay and sudden swerves in tempo and tone. This edition is the limited Glacial Blue pressing, packaged with a 24 by 24 inch poster of the band by artist Joe Becker.
