The Postal Service - Give Up
2014 Remastered Reissue • Single LP • Sub Pop
Made by mail. Ben Gibbard in Seattle, Jimmy Tamborello in Los Angeles, sending CD-Rs back and forth until it was done. One album, no follow-up, no need for one. Give Up became Sub Pop's second best-selling record of all time after Bleach. Such Great Heights is the one everyone knows. The other nine tracks are why it lasted.

About the album.
The sole studio album by The Postal Service, a long-distance collaboration between Ben Gibbard (vocalist, Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (producer, Dntel). Recorded by exchanging CD-Rs through the mail between Los Angeles and Seattle, with Gibbard writing melodies and lyrics over Tamborello's electronic instrumentals. Additional vocals provided by Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley) and Jen Wood. Released on Sub Pop on 19 February 2003, Give Up peaked at No. 45 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum in the US, making it Sub Pop's second best-selling release after Nirvana's Bleach. This 2014 single LP reissue was created using the 10th anniversary remastered tapes.
