Shine A Little Light opens on a stacked guitar riff with organ underneath and the vocal doubled over the top, which is the template for everything that follows. Eagle Birds holds the same tempo and the same handclap backbeat. Lo/Hi is the one everybody knows, a blues stomp that changes gear halfway through and never changes back. Sit Around And Miss You strips it to acoustic guitar and is the only real pause here. Go picks the tempo straight back up where Sit Around And Miss You left it. Under The Gun leans hardest on the fuzz. Fire Walk With Me closes on the same wall of guitar the record opened with, twelve songs and just under forty minutes with almost no let up.

About the album.

Let's Rock is the ninth studio album by The Black Keys, a rock record built almost entirely on guitar, drums and vocals, released on 28 June 2019 by Nonesuch and Easy Eye Sound. It was the duo's first album in five years after Turn Blue, and they made it deliberately narrow, cutting the keyboards and studio layering of the previous few records back to the setup they started with. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney recorded it at Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville, with engineering by M. Allen Parker and Marc Whitmore. The twelve songs include Lo/Hi, Eagle Birds, and Go. The rear sleeve carries a dedication in loving memory of Glenn Schwartz, the Cleveland guitarist and an early influence on Auerbach, who died in 2018. The Black Keys followed it with Delta Kream in 2021.
