About the album.
Originally released on 31 August 2018, Flow State is the debut studio album from Australian multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana. Released through Lonely Lands Records, the album expanded the one-person-band energy that helped build Tash’s early following into a full-length studio statement.
Written, performed, arranged and produced largely by Tash Sultana, the record draws from psychedelic rock, soul, reggae, funk, blues and electronic music. The result is spacious, groove-led and deeply performance-driven, with guitar work, looping and vocal textures at the centre.
Featuring Big Smoke, Salvation, Harvest Love, Murder to the Mind, Mystik and Blackbird, Flow State captures the fluid, instinctive style that made Tash Sultana one of Australia’s most distinctive contemporary artists.
