Talking Heads - Remain In Light
180g HQ Vinyl • Reissue
Recorded in the Bahamas. Built from loops, not chords. Byrne, Eno, and a band who'd decided to stop sounding like a band. The album that invented a genre nobody had a name for yet. Once in a Lifetime is the one everyone knows. The other seven tracks are the reason it matters.

About the album.
Talking Heads' fourth studio album, recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, the Bahamas, and Sigma Sound Studios in New York City in July and August 1980. Produced by Brian Eno, his third consecutive album with the band, Remain in Light was built from instrumental jam sessions recorded as looping grooves, drawing heavily on the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti and the polyrhythmic traditions of West African music. Core members David Byrne (vocals, guitar), Chris Frantz (drums), Tina Weymouth (bass), and Jerry Harrison (guitar, keyboards) were joined by session musicians including guitarist Adrian Belew, vocalist Nona Hendryx, and trumpeter Jon Hassell. The album peaked at No. 19 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 21 on the UK Albums Chart. In 2017, the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Recording Registry as a work deemed culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant. Widely considered Talking Heads' magnum opus. Pressed on 180g HQ vinyl, cut from analogue masters, with original artwork.
