About the album.

Gemini Rights is the second studio album from American musician Steve Lacy, a warm, guitar-led R&B record first released on RCA in July 2022 as his major-label debut and the follow-up to Apollo XXI. Lacy produced most of the album himself, playing guitar and bass along the way, with Matt Martians producing '2Gether (Enterlude)' and DJ Dahi co-producing 'Give You The World' and adding production to 'Mercury' and 'Buttons'. John Carroll Kirby plays synth and organ across much of the record, while Karriem Riggins drums on 'Sunshine', which also features Fousheé. Neal Pogue mixed the album and Mike Bozzi mastered it. Funk, jazz and psychedelia all colour the arrangements, and at ten tracks it runs just under 35 minutes. 'Bad Habit' became Lacy's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to reach number one, while the album made the Billboard 200 top ten and topped the Top Rock Albums chart. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 65th Grammy Awards. This vinyl edition followed in late 2022 and comes with a printed inner sleeve and insert. Lacy is also known as the guitarist in The Internet, and their records are the natural next step from here.
