M moves faster and brighter, echoey guitar figures stacking before flute swathes carry the last minute out. Driver lands a heavy stomp beat with the guitars pushed up front. Some Sunny Day wobbles at the edges, gazy and unhurried. Changes starts austere and acoustic and opens out into something rippling and wide. Anchor breaks the pattern entirely, programmed percussion and a grimy industrial bass grinding under electric guitar. Evergreen closes short, strings sighing under the acoustic guitar.

About the album.
Evergreen is an indie rock and indie pop record released in October 2024, the fourth studio album by Soccer Mommy, the recording name of the Nashville songwriter Sophie Allison. It was recorded at Maze Studios in Atlanta and produced by Ben H. Allen, the first time Allison had worked with him. She wrote it in the wake of a personal loss and wanted the songs to stay close to the demos, so the production leans acoustic, built on guitars, strings, flutes, synths and looping rather than the more experimental production of 2022's Sometimes, Forever. Abigail is a love song written for a character from the video game Stardew Valley. This edition is the European limited pressing on baby blue vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with a large fold-out poster.
