About the album.

Released in 2023, Áttá is the eighth studio album by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós and their first new studio album in ten years. It also marked the return of multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson, rejoining Jónsi and Georg Holm after more than a decade away from the band.

Built around orchestral weight, restraint and atmosphere, Áttá moves with patience. Strings swell and recede, Jónsi’s voice drifts through open space and the whole record feels suspended between grief, beauty and release.

Featuring “Blóðberg”, “Skel”, “Gold” and “8”, Áttá is Sigur Rós at their most spacious and emotionally direct. Less about impact. More about immersion.
