About the album.
Originally released in 2006, What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have is the second studio album by Sarah Blasko. The album debuted at #7 on the ARIA Albums Chart, achieved Gold certification and won the ARIA Award for Best Pop Release, confirming Blasko as one of Australia’s most distinctive and compelling voices.
Haunting, orchestral and emotionally rich, the record expanded on the promise of The Overture & The Underscore, moving into a more cinematic and atmospheric space. Featuring Always On This Line and Explain, the album balances sweeping arrangements with poetic lyricism, creating a body of work that still feels intimate, strange and quietly powerful two decades on.
