Ramones - Ramones (Vinyl LP 180g Remastered)
180g • 2016 Remaster • Half-Speed Cut at Abbey Road
The record that started it. Fourteen songs, twenty-nine minutes, no solos, no fat. Blitzkrieg Bop sets the rule: chant, downstroke, go. Beat On The Brat and Judy Is A Punk prove it holds at any speed. I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend is the one that gives the game away, a sixties pop song played by four people who won't slow down for it. Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue drops to a grind and stays ugly. Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World ends on the same guitar setting the album opened with. Year zero.

About the album.
Ramones is the 1976 debut that set the template for punk rock, fourteen songs recorded at Plaza Sound in Radio City Music Hall, New York, and released on Sire. The record strips rock and roll back to downstroked guitar, running bass and a snare that never stops moving, with melody carried by Joey Ramone's vocals rather than by arrangement. Blitzkrieg Bop, Beat On The Brat, Judy Is A Punk and 53rd & 3rd have since become foundation stones for four decades of guitar bands. This 2018 European pressing uses the 2016 remastered audio, cut at half speed at Abbey Road Studios and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Record Industry in the Netherlands. It comes in a single sleeve with a printed inner sleeve carrying the lyrics.
