About the album.

Perfecth is the ninth studio album from Queens Of The Stone Age, a rock record that moves between menace, tenderness and the surreal humour the band has traded in since the desert sessions. Made by Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore, its nine songs explore different forms of love, from family and friendship through to lust, foolishness and hard-won wisdom. It was produced by Homme and Shuman, and tracked in locations running from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Homme has said every song is meant to sound like it comes from a different world, stitching together the emotions that gather around love and the wisdom that arrives afterwards. The title is a broken version of a word Homme considers dishonest, on the grounds that nothing is ever actually perfect. The album follows 2023's In Times New Roman and was preceded by the singles Easy Street and Insignificant Other, the latter a long, smoke-trailing groove that builds across five minutes of unusually smooth vocal work. It also carries the influence of the band's stripped-back 2024 performance in the Paris Catacombs, and closes out a run where Mono shifts its mix from mono to stereo as it opens into orchestral scale. This is the indie retail exclusive pressing on transparent vinyl.
