Placebo - Black Market Music
Black Vinyl
Black Market Music keeps the pressure on. Placebo sound wired, bruised and ready to snap. The guitars stay sharp. The rhythm section drives hard. Brian Molko’s voice cuts through with glamour, damage and defiance. Darker than the breakthrough. Less polished. More agitated. The hooks are still there, but they come wrapped in distortion, tension and late-night paranoia. Alternative rock with the lights flickering. Still venomous. Still magnetic.
“Great website experience and some absolute crackers to choose from, matched by swift delivery.”

About the album.
Originally released in 2000, Black Market Music is the third studio album from Placebo. Following the success of Without You I’m Nothing, the record pushed the band’s sound into a darker, heavier and more politically charged space while keeping the sharp melodic pull that defined their early work.
Featuring Taste in Men, Special K, Slave to the Wage and Black-Eyed, the album captures Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Steve Hewitt leaning further into distortion, electronic textures, tension and emotional volatility.
Raw, restless and unmistakably Placebo, Black Market Music remains a key album from the band’s early 2000s period and a strong pick for fans of alternative rock with bite, attitude and atmosphere.
