About the album.

The third album from Ghanaian-Australian artist Genesis Owusu, recorded with producer Dann Hume in a converted church in South Wales. Following two back-to-back ARIA Album of the Year wins for Smiling with No Teeth (2021) and Struggler (2023), Owusu took on the alias Redstar Wu for this release, describing it as "me seeing the world as it is." The album blends neo-soul, synth-punk, alt-pop, deep funk, and Brit rock into a 14-track indictment of political, social, and economic collapse, balanced against an insistence on community and joy as acts of resistance. Features include Duckwrth on Hellstar and New Zealand artist Ladyhawke on Falling Both Ways. Released via Owusu's own Ourness label in May 2026, the album received universal acclaim, scoring 87 on Metacritic.
