Ocean Alley - Lonely Diamond (Vinyl 2LP Transparent Blue)
Transparent Blue • Limited to 2,500 Copies • Gatefold • Foldout Poster
Ocean Alley, drifting further out. 'Dahlia' opens instrumental and short, a funk groove that sets the tone before anyone sings. 'Way Down' trades the band's watery tones for something warmer and sun-baked. Seventies guitar, unhurried drums, plenty of space left open. 'Up In There' and 'Wet Dreams' sink into long, slow late-night jams. Then 'Hot Chicken' turns up the heat and rocks harder. 'Luna' closes on a loose, freeform instrumental jam.

About the album.
Lonely Diamond is the third studio album from Sydney psychedelic rock band Ocean Alley, released independently through Unified on 19 June 2020. It followed the band's breakout moment, when 'Confidence' topped the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2018, after which they returned to the studio to begin work on new material. The album was recorded at The Grove Studios, with opener 'Dahlia' and closer 'Luna' both written in the studio during the final week of sessions.
Five singles came from the record. 'Stained Glass' and 'Infinity' arrived in 2019 and both placed in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2019, followed by 'Tombstone', 'Hot Chicken' and 'Way Down', the last released on the same day as the album. Triple J made it a Feature Album in release week, noting the band moving past the coastal reggae rock of their earlier releases and leaning harder into seventies influences. Lonely Diamond reached number 3 on the ARIA Albums chart and number 6 in New Zealand.
This edition is pressed across two LPs on transparent blue vinyl, limited to 2,500 copies, and housed in a gatefold sleeve with a foldout poster.
