About the album.
All Encores collects the three Encores EPs Nils Frahm released through 2018 and 2019, gathered here as one 80-minute set across three LPs. The material orbits Frahm's 2018 album All Melody, with Encores 1 built around an acoustic palette of solo piano and harmonium, Encores 2 moving into more ambient territory, and Encores 3 pushing further into percussive and electronic textures. Frahm has described the project as a set of musical islands meant to complement All Melody rather than extend it directly. Tracks like "Artificially Intelligent" and "All Armed" had been live favourites for years before finally appearing on record, making this collection as much a document of Frahm's stagecraft as his studio work.
