About the album.

Endlessness is the second studio album from London-based Caribbean-Belgian composer and multi-instrumentalist Nala Sinephro. It is an ambient jazz record that folds modular synths, harp and orchestral strings into ten linked pieces. Warp Records released it on 6 September 2024 as the follow-up to her 2021 debut, Space 1.8. It runs for around 45 minutes, with a single continuous arpeggio threading through every track. Sinephro produced, arranged and mixed the album, co-writing most of the pieces with her players. She recorded at Pink Bird Recording Co., at home and at Air Lyndhurst, where the 21 string players of the Orchestrate ensemble were captured. Her cast of London players includes saxophonists Nubya Garcia and James Mollison, trumpeter and flugelhornist Sheila Maurice-Grey, drummers Morgan Simpson and Natcyet Wakili, synth player Lyle Barton and synth bassist Dwayne Kilvington. The tracks are titled simply 'Continuum 1' to 'Continuum 10', and the album is framed as a meditation on cycles of life and rebirth. Endlessness topped the UK Jazz & Blues Albums Chart and appeared on many 2024 year-end lists. This Warp pressing spreads the music across three sides of a black double LP, with an etching on side D. It sits naturally alongside Promises by Floating Points and Pharoah Sanders, and the more exploratory end of the Warp catalogue.
