Oh Inhuman Spectacle is the 2015 debut album from Perth indie rock band Methyl Ethel, reissued internationally by 4AD in May 2016 after its original Australian release on Dot Dash. Jake Webb wrote, recorded and played the record himself before recruiting Thom Stewart and Chris Wright to bring it to the stage, and that origin shows in the sound: layered guitar, close reverb and a hazy, art-rock looseness that sits somewhere between psych pop and dream pop. Twelve tracks, including Idée Fixe, Rogues and Twilight Driving, the songs that first took Methyl Ethel beyond Western Australia. Mastered by Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Sound.
