About the album.
Originally released on 23 August 2024, Imaginal Disk is the second studio album from American duo Magdalena Bay. Released through Mom + Pop Music, the album was written and produced by Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin and follows their 2021 debut Mercurial World.
A concept album centred around the character True and the mysterious “Imaginal Disk”, the record moves through synth-pop, dance-pop, electronic rock, psych-pop and futuristic pop theatre. Featuring Image, Death & Romance, Tunnel Vision, That’s My Floor and She Looked Like Me!, the album is ambitious, melodic and full of strange narrative detail.
