About the album.
Released in 2021, Gold-Diggers Sound is the third studio album from Leon Bridges. Named after the East Hollywood studio, bar and hotel where much of the record took shape, the album captures Bridges in a more atmospheric R&B space, blending soul, jazz, funk and late-night pop with a warmer, more modern edge.
The album features contributions from Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin and Ink, and includes tracks such as “Motorbike”, “Why Don’t You Touch Me”, “Gold-Diggers (Junior’s Fanfare)” and “Sweeter”. Compared with the retro-soul feel of Coming Home, this is Bridges in a more fluid and intimate mode: polished, spacious and full of slow-burn confidence.
