About the album.

Released on 25 August 1998, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is the debut solo album from the former Fugees singer and MC. Released through Ruffhouse and Columbia Records and largely written, arranged and produced by Hill herself, it blended hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and reggae into something deeply personal, part love letter, part sermon, part diary.

Recorded largely at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong studios in Kingston, the album features Doo Wop (That Thing), Ex-Factor, Everything Is Everything and To Zion with Carlos Santana. It debuted at number one, won five Grammys in a single night, including Album of the Year, a first for a hip-hop record, and remains one of the most acclaimed albums of the 1990s. It's also her only solo studio album, which has only deepened the legend.

For Juicy, this is pure Backbone: a one-album legacy that most artists couldn't build across an entire career.

This edition is pressed as a double black vinyl LP via Ruffhouse / Columbia / Sony Music.
