Kiasmos - II Reworked (Vinyl 2LP Translucent)
2LP • Translucent Vinyl • Limited Edition
Detuned piano opens it, tuning sliding a half step under itself. Strings stretch until their edges blur. The dancefloor pulse thins to almost nothing. Melodies from the original surface slowly, smeared across long open space. Elsewhere the electronics turn brittle, pulling buried stems up into grain and flicker. Drone holds under the quieter passages. Chords hang until they cloud. Reverb tails carry the last of it out.

About the album.
In July 2024, Kiasmos, the duo of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen, released their second album, II, and toured it across four continents over the next eighteen months. For II Reworked, the pair handed the entire record to five artists to reimagine in sequence. Alex Somers takes tracks one, five, and six, using analogue studio equipment to detune pianos and strings and slow the pieces down. Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith, together known as Disiniblud, rework tracks two, three, four, eight and ten, using electronic experimentation to surface stems that sat in the background of the originals. Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang, the recording name of Sindri Már Sigfússon, handle tracks seven, nine, and eleven through a more ambient, drone-led lens. Mastered by Zino Mikorey, with lacquers cut by Andreas Kauffelt at Schnittstelle in Berlin. Artwork and design by Studio Torsten Posselt. The physical formats arrived a month before the digital release, and this limited translucent pressing includes WAV and MP3 downloads. Erased Tapes' distributor lists the translucent variant as limited to 1000 copies worldwide.
