About the album.

Khruangbin's second album is a record about distance. The Houston trio built their debut out of 1960s and 70s Thai funk and pop; for Con Todo El Mundo they turned toward the funk and soul of the Middle East, Iran in particular, and filtered it through a band that plays almost entirely without words.

The title came from Laura Lee's grandfather, who used to ask her cómo me quieres — how much do you love me — and would only accept one answer: con todo el mundo, with all the world. That warmth is the whole record. Lee's bass carries most of the melodic weight, Mark Speer's guitar answers it in long reverbed phrases, and Donald "DJ" Johnson keeps a backbeat so relaxed it barely registers as effort. "Maria También" arrived first as the lead single, "August 10" and "A Hymn" barely move at all, and "Friday Morning" takes nearly seven minutes to say goodbye.

Most of it was cut in an untreated barn on Speer's family property outside Burton, Texas, a town of under three hundred people with no Wi-Fi and barely any phone reception, then finished at The Treehouse in Houston. Released 26 January 2018 through Night Time Stories and Dead Oceans. This is the UK 180g pressing, with download code included.
