Jungle - Sunshine (Vinyl LP Desert Peach)
Desert Peach Vinyl • Gatefold • Indie Exclusive • Limited Edition
Falsetto stacked and layered until one voice fills the room. Drums sit dry and close, hi-hats ticking across the top of the bar. Bass keeps to short rounded phrases and leaves the pocket alone. Strings rise, then step back before the sweetness settles. "The Wave" drags a soft Brazilian lilt through the groove. Guitars stay clean and thin, all wrist. The whole thing runs warm and lightly compressed, treble rolled off at the edges.

About the album.
Sunshine is the fifth studio album by Jungle, the London band formed by Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, now a trio with Lydia Kitto. It follows Volcano (2023), which reached number three in the UK and carried the group to Group of the Year at the 2024 BRIT Awards, their first nomination and their first win, on the back of the single "Back on 74". The new album was written by Lloyd-Watson, McFarland and Kitto, produced by Lloyd-Watson and Kitto with additional production from McFarland and Jamie Lloyd Taylor, and mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis. It was trailed by three singles, "Carry On" in March, premiered as BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record, "The Wave" in May, which the band described as drawing on Brazilian music of the 1960s and 70s, and "Someday, Somewhere" in July. "Romeo II" brings back Bas, who featured on "Romeo" from Loving in Stereo (2021), the first guest appearance Jungle ever put on a record, and returned for "Pretty Little Thing" on Volcano. It is released through Caiola Records, the band's own imprint, under exclusive licence to AWAL.
