James Blake - Trying Times (Vinyl 2LP White)

Trying Times is the seventh studio album from James Blake. It is an electronic soul record that leans back toward the songwriter side of his work, with sparse arrangements built around his voice. Released on 13 March 2026, it is his first full-length album as an independent artist following his departure from Polydor. It was issued through the Los Angeles label Good Boy Records, with distribution from Virgin Music Group. The label has described an unusual model behind the release, with Blake, Good Boy, Virgin and digital marketing partner Stellar Music all funding the record and sharing in its returns. Blake has called the album a commentary on the relentlessness of modern life, and much of it turns toward love as a counterweight. Recording took place at Real World Studios and Soho House Studios. Blake produced alongside frequent collaborator Dom Maker and Jameela Jamil, who is also credited as executive producer. Monica Martin joins him on 'Didn't Come To Argue', and Dave appears on 'Doesn't Just Happen'. 'Death Of Love' and 'I Had A Dream She Took My Hand' were released as singles ahead of the album. Across thirteen tracks, it follows 2023's Playing Robots Into Heaven and sits closer in spirit to the alternative R&B songwriting of 2021's Friends That Break Your Heart. This edition presents the album as a limited white vinyl double LP.
