About the album.

Doctrine of Love is the 2026 sophomore album from Washington D.C. raised, UK-based soul singer Jalen Ngonda, released on Daptone Records. It follows his acclaimed 2023 debut Come Around and Love Me, whose single "If You Don't Want My Love" went viral and has drawn over 250 million streams. Backed by Daptone's house band, the record expands on the orchestral arrangements of his debut with horns and gospel-inflected background vocals, blending pop sensibility with raw soul grit. The album takes its name from Ngonda's stated creed, that thought, and action should be guided first by compassion for others.
