About the album.

Mood Valiant is the third studio album from Melbourne quartet Hiatus Kaiyote, released on Brainfeeder in June 2021. Built around Nai Palm (vocals, guitar), Paul Bender (bass), Simon Mavin (keys) and Perrin Moss (drums), it followed a long gap and Nai Palm's recovery from illness, and it landed as their most assured record, lush, intricate neo-soul that moves between rhythmic knots and open, tender space. A centrepiece is "Get Sun," arranged with and featuring legendary Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, whose string and wind writing also colours "Stone Or Lavender." The album debuted at number 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was nominated for Best Soul/R&B Release at the 2021 ARIA Awards.
