Glue Of The World opens on a recording of someone typing, with a harp loop drifting in over the top of it. Twenty Three chops a break into something bright and is done inside four minutes. Parks takes six and lets one figure circle without ever tightening up. Leila Came Round And We Watched A Video is over in a hundred seconds. Everything Is Alright is acoustic guitar and almost nothing else, and it is the loveliest thing here. You Could Ruin My Day runs seven minutes and is the closest this record comes to a peak. Hilarious Movie Of The 90's brings the typing back to finish, eleven tracks and forty three minutes that end where they started.

Pause is the second album by Kieran Hebden as Four Tet, an electronic record built from chopped breakbeats, acoustic guitar, harp and field recordings, released on 28 May 2001 by Domino. It was his first release for the label after Dialogue came out through Output Recordings, and it is the album that got the term folktronica attached to him, largely because of how much acoustic material sits inside the programming. Hebden wrote and produced everything himself, recording throughout spring and summer 2000. A recording of an office, mostly the sound of someone typing, runs through the album as a motif, opening it with Glue Of The World, reappearing in Harmony One, and closing it with Hilarious Movie Of The 90's. Eleven tracks run to forty-three minutes. Four Tet followed it with Rounds in 2003.
