Life Is Yours is Foals' seventh studio album and their first as a trio, following the departures of bassist Walter Gervers in 2018 and keyboardist Edwin Congreave in 2021. Where its predecessor Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, a two-part album that delivered the band's first UK No. 1, mapped the end of the world with sprawling ambition, Life Is Yours plants itself firmly in the present: disco-tinged guitars, syncopated rhythms, and a running heat of post-lockdown release. Written in their south London rehearsal space during winter lockdown and finished at Real World Studios near Bath, the album emerged through an unusually open production process, Foals worked across different tracks with four producers: John Hill (Portugal the Man, Florence + the Machine), Dan Carey (Tame Impala, Fontaines D.C.), Miles James, and A.K. Paul. Released June 2022 on Warner/Transgressive, it debuted at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart and topped both the Official Vinyl Chart and the Official Record Store Chart. All tracks written by Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan, and Jimmy Smith.
