Floating Points - Cascade (Vinyl 2LP)
Black Vinyl • Double LP • Gatefold
Synths that arrive in layers and keep arriving. Low end you feel in the floorboards before you hear it. Tracks stretch past seven minutes and use every second. The first disc pushes forward; the second loosens its grip and drifts. Play it loud enough and the room stops being a room.

About the album.
Cascade is the 2024 album from Sam Shepherd, recording as Floating Points, released by Ninja Tune on 13 September 2024. Shepherd wrote, arranged and recorded the album himself across sessions at EMS4, Sunfair Studios, Different Fur Studios and Rancho De La Luna.
Eight tracks spread across four sides, most running past six minutes and two past eight. Shepherd's synthesiser work runs through Buchla, Yamaha CS-80, Rhodes Chroma, ARP 2600, PPG Wave and Sequential Pro One, among others. Dan Snaith plays drums on "Fast Forward," Stella Mozgawa on "Afflecks Palace," and Miriam Adefris contributes harp to "Ocotillo." Hikaru Utada and Hannah Ekholm both appear on voice. Matt Colton mastered the album at Metropolis, where the lacquers were also cut.
Artwork is by Akiko Nakayama, with design by Matthew Cooper. This is the standard black vinyl double LP, housed in a gatefold sleeve.
