About the album.

Reflection is a generative ambient album by Brian Eno, released by Warp Records on New Year's Day 2017 as a single 54-minute piece.

Eno describes it as the latest work in a long series that runs back to Discreet Music in 1975, with Thursday Afternoon, Neroli and Lux in its lineage. He calls pieces like this generative, meaning they make themselves, and he has said people use these records as spaces for thinking. Eno wrote, recorded and produced it, with Peter Chilvers credited for programming the Mutation software. The cover photograph is Eno's own.

It followed his 2016 album The Ship and continued his run of solo releases on Warp after Lux in 2012. It reached number 78 on the UK Official Albums Chart.

On vinyl, the piece is split across four sides as Reflection I to IV, cut at 45 RPM by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering and pressed by Optimal Media. The double LP comes in printed inner sleeves with a download of the full album.

If Reflection is your kind of space, A Winged Victory for the Sullen's The Undivided Five sits in the same unhurried territory.
