About the album.

Answers is an electronic and ambient record released in October 2026, the debut collaborative album from Bibio and Dorian Concept. Stephen Wilkinson and Oliver Johnson first met in 2009 and built a creative relationship across more than fifteen years of shows, shared interests and an ongoing exchange of music and ideas. Wilkinson was prompted to collaborate after seeing Johnson's 2022 video for Let It All Go, which led him to propose an audio-visual project; Bibio later played guitar on Dorian Concept's 2025 release Miniature. The album was created remotely between Vienna, Wolverhampton and rural Wales, with compositions, video clips and ideas passed back and forth by email, WhatsApp and a shared folder; each artist responded to what the other had sent and let the music develop through listening, altering and answering. Warp frames the record as rooted in looking back as a way to move forward, bringing together two distinct musical worlds shaped by their surroundings and the paths both have taken over the past two decades. Lead single Lichen Trip takes its name from the track's triplet rhythm, setting cyclical folk guitar against a Roland SH-101 processed through a 2000s Eventide Orville, with guitar, piano, and synth melodies alongside field recordings, tape loops, and processed textures. Five videos accompany the album, made by the pair using analogue and early digital video cameras, VHS-C and MiniDV, VJ equipment, video mixers and circuit-bent analogue video gear, embracing the glitches and artefacts of ageing technology. The vinyl edition includes a printed inner sleeve and 3mm spine sleeve, plus a 6pp concertina booklet.
