Xerrox Phaser Acat 1 takes twelve minutes to arrive, strings surfacing through hiss a layer at a time and never quite clearing it. Xerrox Rin lasts fifty-one seconds, one bell figure and then nothing. Xerrox Soma drops the register hard, a low grinding drone sitting under everything else on the side. Xerrox Meta Phaser is the harshest thing here, dense static pushed nearly to distortion before it breaks. Xerrox Sora answers it with a slow melodic drift, warm and badly degraded at once. The three Monophasers run phasing tones against each other across sides C and D, each one narrower than the last. Xerrox Tek Part 1 brings in something close to a pulse, and Monophaser 3 lets it dissolve back into the field it came from.

Xerrox Vol.2 is Carsten Nicolai's sixth studio album as Alva Noto, an ambient and electronic record and the second chapter in his five-part Xerrox series. Originally released by Raster-Noton in 2009, it continues the method established on Vol.1, taking samples from outside sources and copying them until the originals are no longer recognisable. Where the first volume drew on anonymous everyday sound, this one credits Michael Nyman, Stephen O'Malley, and Ryuichi Sakamoto as sample sources, reshaped into long-form drone and electroacoustic pieces. The album pulls in two directions across its hour, dense walls of static on one side and fragile melodic traces on the other. Xerrox Vol.2 was followed by Vol.3 in 2015, Vol.4 in 2020 and Vol.5 in 2024. This 2026 NOTON edition is a remastered reissue across two LPs.
