Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto - Vrioon
2LP • Gatefold • Remastered 2022 Reissue
Two minds, one piano. Sakamoto plays it straight; Alva Noto cuts it up, glitches it, lets the static creep in. Twenty years on, remastered, with a previously unreleased piece closing things out. Quiet record. Doesn't ask for attention, rewards it anyway. Closing a near perfect ambient LP.
“Great website experience and some absolute crackers to choose from, matched by swift delivery.”

About the album.
Vrioon, originally released in 2002, is the debut collaboration between Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto and the first instalment of their five-album V.I.R.U.S. series, which would go on to include Insen, Revep, Utp_, and Summvs. The album pairs Sakamoto's spare, recorded piano against Alva Noto's glitch and electronic processing, a push-and-pull between organic and digital that became the template for the series. This 2022 reissue, remastered in collaboration with Calyx Studio, restores the original seven pieces and adds a previously unreleased composition, "Landscape Skizze," originally recorded in 2005 for an unrelated photographic art project. Pressed as a 2LP gatefold, this edition brings one of modern electronic music's most influential collaborations back to vinyl two decades after its original release.
