About the album.
The Collapse Of Everything is Adrian Sherwood's first solo album in thirteen years, a dub record that drifts out of dub and into downtempo, Ethiojazz, and something close to a film score. Ten instrumental tracks in a little over thirty-eight minutes, produced and mixed by Sherwood at his own On-U Sound Studios, mastered and cut by Frank Merritt at The Carvery. Sherwood said the title came from a lyric written by Mark Stewart, and that it stands for both losing Stewart and Keith LeBlanc and what is happening politically and environmentally. The cast draws on decades of On-U work: Doug Wimbish on bass across most of the record; Keith LeBlanc and Chris Joyce on drums; Gaudi and Jazzwad on synths; Horseman on percussion; Alex White on saxophone and flute; Mark Bandola on guitar and Roland Juno 60. Brian Eno plays guitars and adds vocals and effects on "The Well Is Poisoned (Dub)". Artwork by Peter Harris, issued in a spot-gloss sleeve with a printed inner.
