About the album.
Released in 2017, Capacity is the second studio album from Big Thief. Led by songwriter Adrianne Lenker, the album explores themes of memory, family and personal history through a restrained indie folk lens.
Built around subtle arrangements and close vocal delivery, Capacity balances intimacy with structure. Tracks such as Mary, Shark Smile and Mythological Beauty move between narrative detail and open space, allowing the emotional weight to sit without excess.
The result is a record that feels precise and deliberate, shaped as much by what is left out as what remains.
