About the album.
Boots on the Ground is a two track 12 inch single pairing Bristol trip hop and alternative group Massive Attack with Tom Waits. The A side is their collaboration, marking Massive Attack's first new music in five years and Waits's first new recording since Bad As Me in 2011. Waits has said the track was recorded years earlier and held back, and that the delay never concerned him. The B side, The Fly, is exclusive to vinyl and is a spoken word piece by Waits alone. The record is pressed as an EcoSonic edition produced with Good Neighbor, using 100 percent recycled PET rather than PVC, made by injection moulding, and fully recyclable, with sleeves in 100 percent recycled FSC certified paper stock. Massive Attack have released an accompanying montage film made with the photo artist thefinaleye. Vinyl proceeds are being donated to civil rights and community advocacy organisations.
