About the album.
Released in August 2025, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You is the second studio album from Ethel Cain. The record serves as a prequel to Preacher’s Daughter, returning to the story of Ethel’s first love, Willoughby Tucker, through a sound that draws from slowcore, Americana, folk, indie pop and shoegaze.
Featuring Nettles, Fuck Me Eyes, Dust Bowl and Waco, Texas, the album moves through long-form atmosphere, restrained arrangements and emotionally heavy storytelling. Expansive and deeply internal, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You sits in the same cinematic universe as Preacher’s Daughter, but with its own heat, distance and ache.
