About the album.
Released in 2025, The Universe Smiles Upon You II sees Khruangbin return to the Texas barn where their 2015 debut was first conceived. Recorded across the same January dates a decade later, the sessions again captured the trio playing live in a stripped-back environment, with minimal isolation and natural room ambience intact.
Rather than recreating the original record, the band reapproach the material with subtle shifts in structure and feel. The performances reflect ten years of touring and refinement, retaining the hypnotic groove of the debut while introducing greater precision and restraint.
Pressed on 2LP white vinyl, the format gives these spacious compositions room to unfold across four sides.
