About the album.

Originally released on 7 July 2023, I Inside the Old Year Dying is the tenth studio album from English singer-songwriter PJ Harvey. Released through Partisan Records, it marked her first album of new material in seven years, following The Hope Six Demolition Project.

Recorded with long-time collaborators John Parish and Flood, the album draws from Harvey’s poetic work Orlam and builds a strange, intimate world between folk, art rock, post-punk and old rural English atmosphere. Featuring A Child’s Question, August, I Inside the Old I Dying, Prayer at the Gate, Lwonesome Tonight and A Noiseless Noise, the record is delicate, unsettling and unlike anything else in her catalogue.
