About the album.
Released as their fifth studio album, Love Balloon finds Ocean Alley reflecting on more than a decade together as a band. The record broadens their sonic palette while maintaining the groove-driven foundation that defined their earlier work.
Produced by Nick DiDia, the sessions embraced spontaneity and a more stripped-back recording approach. Live takes and instinct-led performances give the album a rawer, more immediate character compared to the band’s earlier, more layered productions.
Across ten tracks, the band draw from disco, funk, soul and country influences without abandoning their signature rhythmic flow. The result is a record that feels expansive but grounded, reflective without losing momentum.
