INXS - Shabooh Shoobah Recorded Live at the US Festival 1983
Live Recording • US Festival 1983 • Black Vinyl
INXS push rhythm into overdrive. Shabooh Shoobah live at the US Festival sharpens the band’s early sound, funk still present but driven harder, guitars cutting with more intent. The energy is direct, less refined, but controlled. The performance sits on the shift. New wave roots still visible, but the move toward stadium rock is already forming. Hutchence leads from the front, not yet iconic, but unmistakable. Momentum, captured mid-rise.

About the album.
Recorded Live at the US Festival 1983 captures INXS during a pivotal early moment in their rise. Performing in front of a massive American audience at the iconic US Festival, the band deliver a high-energy set drawn largely from their third studio album, Shabooh Shoobah.
At this stage, INXS were transitioning from their new wave and funk-driven roots into a sharper, more defined rock sound. Tracks like The One Thing and Don’t Change land with urgency, driven by tight rhythms, punchy guitars, and the commanding presence of Michael Hutchence.
The recording captures the rawness of a band on the edge of international breakthrough. Less refined than their later arena performances, but more immediate. A document of momentum building.
