About the album.

Stumpwork is the second studio album from South London four-piece Dry Cleaning, released 21 October 2022 on 4AD. Produced by John Parish and recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, the album follows their acclaimed 2021 debut New Long Leg. Where that record announced something new, Stumpwork deepens it, surrealist lyrics from vocalist Florence Shaw set against the interlocking guitar work of Tom Dowse, bass from Lewis Maynard, and drums from Nick Buxton. Themes of family, money, politics, and sensuality run through the record, balanced between furious alt-rock and stretches of ambient drift. Mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering. Packaged in a gatefold sleeve pressed on white vinyl.
