About the album.
Recorded in Manhattan at the Power Station, Double Infinity finds Big Thief working within an expanded ensemble. Tracked live with a rotating group of musicians, the sessions favoured collective performance over separation, allowing arrangements to take shape in real time.
Longtime collaborator Dom Monks produced, engineered and mixed the album, capturing the immediacy of the live recordings and the interaction between players.
While retaining the introspective songwriting that defines Big Thief’s catalogue, Double Infinity introduces layered instrumentation and a more open, ensemble-driven approach.
