About the album.

Released in 1992, Dirt is the second studio album from Alice in Chains, produced by Dave Jerden. It stands as one of the defining records of the early ’90s alternative and grunge movement.

Built around downtuned guitars and layered vocal harmonies between Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell, the album leans into darker subject matter without losing structure or clarity. Tracks like Would?, Rooster, Them Bones and Down in a Hole balance heaviness with control, giving the record both impact and longevity.

Dirt remains a cornerstone release.
Not just for its sound, but for how fully it commits to it.
