About the album.

Originally released on 7 June 2005, Get Behind Me Satan is the fifth studio album from The White Stripes. Released after the huge global success of Elephant, the album pushed Jack and Meg White into stranger, leaner and more percussive territory.

Produced by Jack White and recorded largely at his home in Detroit, the album moves away from straight garage-rock attack and leans into piano, marimba, acoustic guitar, mandolin, bells and off-kilter blues. The result is one of the band’s most unusual records. Less obvious, more haunted and still unmistakably White Stripes.

Featuring Blue Orchid, My Doorbell, The Denial Twist, White Moon, Instinct Blues and Take, Take, Take, the album balances stomp, swing, tension and strange little bursts of melody.

This 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Reissue is released through Third Man Records as a 2LP pressing, with one disc on red translucent vinyl with black smoke and one disc on clear vinyl with red and black smoke.
