Pixies- Doolittle (180g)
Black Vinyl • 180g • Reissue
Fifteen tracks in under forty minutes. Every one of them essential. Recorded in Boston and Connecticut in 1988 and produced by Gil Norton, Doolittle is the album that codified the Pixies' blueprint. Loud. Quiet. Loud. Surrealist lyrics, Kim Deal's bass sitting right up front where it belongs. Debaser. Monkey Gone to Heaven. Here Comes Your Man. Gouge Away. The record that taught a generation of bands how it was done.

About the album.
There are albums that feel like they arrived fully assembled from somewhere else entirely. Doolittle is one of them. Pixies' second record lands with a kind of effortless authority, fifteen songs that careen between noise and melody, aggression and tenderness, Black Francis screaming about eyeballs and Kim Deal floating in underneath like none of it is unusual. Gil Norton's production sharpened everything without taming it. The blueprint for a decade of alternative rock is in here, but that's almost beside the point. It just sounds incredible. Released April 1989 on 4AD. Pressed at Optimal Media on 180g vinyl with printed inner sleeve and double-sided lyric sheet.
