About the album.

Isles is the second studio album from Bicep, the Belfast-born and London-based electronic duo of Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar, released through Ninja Tune on 22 January 2021 after two years of work. It pulls breakbeat, house and UK garage through heavily sampled sources, including a 1958 field recording made in Malawi on Apricots, a Bulgarian choir on Light, a Gesualdo motet on Lido and a Hindi film vocal on Sundial. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and was nominated for the 2021 Choice Music Prize for Best Irish Album. This deluxe pressing spreads the record across three purple LPs in a gatefold sleeve and adds three bonus tracks: Siena, Meli (I), and Light. The duo have since moved on to the CHROMA project, a run of singles collected in 2025.
